How To Move Apps From Phone/Device Storage To SD Card On Android

Nowadays, storage is usually not an issue with most Android smartphones. The device storage in most new android phones is usually 32GB. However, there may be storage issues with some android phones. Because of that, it restricts the number of apps a user can download on the phone. Here, you'll know a way to transfer some of the apps to an SD card. But *note that you can not transfer all apps to an SD card because some of the apps are restricted from moving to a memory card and also a few android phones do not support this feature.
For those that your phone supports, here's how you can go about it.

A step-by-step instructions:
  • Go to settings and click APPLICATIONS

  • Select APPLICATION MANAGER

  • Under the "Application Management" section, you will find a list of all the apps that are installed in your phone. Select the app you want to move and it will take you to that particular app settings.

  • In the app setting, you should be able to see "Move to SD card" as an option. Android makes provisions of detecting apps installed both on phone and SD card memory.

Click "Move to SD card" and wait for the process to complete, it takes some few seconds depending on the speed of your RAM. Once the app is moved to your SD card, you're done. In case you want to move the app back to the internal storage, you have to follow the same procedure as shown above. In place of "Move to SD card", the app will show the option of "Move to Device Storage".

*If you move an app to your external storage, the app will disappear when you use your phone without the SD card.
Pre-installed or native apps too can't be moved (especially Google's apps). So, it is a good idea if you move apps that you use occasionally, and make sure you have ample space on your SD card before you start. Watch the video below for easy understanding ..
